Engine cover painting

LDTcapitan

Question

So I was checking out some Mercedes fora and some people have painted their engine covers. It looks real nice and I'd like to do mine too, anyone have any suggestions for WHICH brand or type of paint to use? I'm figuring something very heat resistant.

I would probably end up doing navy blue, yellow, and black (school colors)

[in reference to lower picture, I would do blue where he has silver, yellow where he has orange, and black where he has black]

Any other suggestions would be appreciated too.

I used to have a Civic and painted some of the items in the engine bay. Can't remember what brand, but I just went to the auto parts store and picked up a can a high temp spray paint. I just sanded down the pieces I wanted to paint and painted.

Some auto part stores will make a spray can of paint for you with your car's colour code.

My boss had one done up here for his 92 Miata. If he found one in Dartmouth Nova Scotia, I gotta imagine there is somewhere in Fort Worth to get it done.......LOL
