Dish soap

This might sound like a dumb question but I have a friend that uses dish soap to wash cars (which I would never ever ever ever.............do) but could it or will it do any damage to the paint? Just one of those things I've had on the back of my mind.

It'll dry out the rubber and plastic and remove wax. It's also not great at sudsing which means more of a chance to scratch the finish.

It works great on china. Maybe thats where his car was made:lol:

LOL, I tried it on my dad's SUV was shiny and everything, it makes your paint squeaky too, I would not do it again, ever. Haha, it removed all the shine from plastic and the paint was really rough.

A lot use Dawn to strip wax off, but usually only once or twice a year. I have used it myself once, but my vette is not a daily driver, so it does not need a complete detailing that often. I stick with Adams Car Wash Shampoo.
