Dish soap

hondarider

Question

This might sound like a dumb question but I have a friend that uses dish soap to wash cars (which I would never ever ever ever.............do) but could it or will it do any damage to the paint? Just one of those things I've had on the back of my mind.:D

It'll dry out the rubber and plastic and remove wax. It's also not great at sudsing which means more of a chance to scratch the finish.

:lolsmack: LOL, I tried it on my dad's SUV was shiny and everything, it makes your paint squeaky too, I would not do it again, ever. Haha, it removed all the shine from plastic and the paint was really rough.

A lot use Dawn to strip wax off, but usually only once or twice a year. I have used it myself once, but my vette is not a daily driver, so it does not need a complete detailing that often. I stick with Adams Car Wash Shampoo.
