I spent this weekend applying LPS to my daily drivers to prepare for the winter season. I love how LPS keeps my cars looking so clean, but the black BMW doesn't have that deep wet look that wax gives it. I am trying to decide whether or not I want to top the sealant with wax. As black car owners know, black cars own you. I want to do whatever to takes to keep it as easy to keep clean as possible over the winter. I know topping it with Buttery or Americana will make it look much better, but I dread the thought of spending more time trying to keep it looking clean. With carnaubas more likely to attract dust/dirt vs sealant I'd like to know others opinions of keeping a black daily driver clean with LPS alone vs LPS topped with Buttery or Americana. Would Buttery or Americana be better at staying clean? Should I just forgo the wax if my goal is keeping it looking clean?
Also, a somewhat related question: What about wax in the summertime? I know carnaubas can "melt" on hot cars during the summer, but what actually happens? Does it start looking bad, or does it just sublimate off? Does the "melted" wax become a dirt magnet? Should I bother using wax on a black daily driver during the summer? I've read Buttery can be applied to hot surfaces, so does that mean it is more resilient to summertime heat?
Thanks in advance for your responses!
(And yes, I have already read the FAQ's in this forum, but I am specifically interested on ease of keeping my black car looking clean)
