Goatluver
Would it be worth it to use Revive by hand after using the Paint Finishing Polish with the Cyclo? Or is this overkill? For some reason I thought Revive is a finer polish.
0 JHL88
Revive is a cleaner polish with no abrasives. The only reason you would use Revive after PFP would be to remove the polishing oils. I think it is a waste of time and product IMO. If you want to remove the polishing oils I'd use a dedicated surface prep or IPA wipedown, It would save a lot of time. 0 SYMAWD
You can add just a small amount of revive to your pad with the finishing polish, but it really isn't necessary.
0 Goatluver
Thanks for the info. I think I may have purchased mismatched items. New to this and trying to understand what is what.
0 mc2hill
Revive after PFP can be heplful on dark cars. Also you will find times when a very light polish is all that is needed, and it works great on shiny interior plastics. 0 Tim
I'll use revive after polishing on my black car. THE Mook
0 Goatluver
Revive after Paint Finishing Polish can be helpful on dark cars. I shall try it since the cars that need a full correction are a black TA and dark blue GTO.
0 Team Adam's
Revive, while not totally necessary when machine polishing, is a great plaint cleanser, as the guys mentioned. If you'll be going with a sealant after polishing, Revive is great. It's my go-to product that get's sandwiched between Paint Finishing Polish and LPS/QS, if using a sealant. If you will be going right to a glaze/wax combo, then skip the Revive step.
0 Chris@Adams
IMHO, Revive is worth the extra step on a dark colored car.......
0 mdolandese
Does that take place of the Isopropyl wipedown ? or should I still do that after the revive? Also my car is new and I thought revive wasn't for new cars. I like the best of the best for my car so it doesn't matter how many steps it takes me to achieve that I just don't want to do any unexpected damage. 0 GerryC
Revive can be used on new or old cars, it doesn't matter. If your car is dark-colored, you'll likely see some increased clarity by using Revive after polishing and before sealing/waxing. Isopropyl wipedowns will prep the surface for sealant/wax by removing any residual oil left behind from polishing. If you use Revive, you can still follow that with an Isopropyl wipedown. You won't be causing unexpected damage using these products. KBsToy

0 GerryC
I'd dilute it least 50%. Some paint finishes are more sensitive to IPA and can temporarily "swell"
0 KBsToy
Get the full strength and dilute it 50 % ??? Again thanks. I just want to do things right the 1st time
0 GerryC
I use 90% IPA diluted 50/50. It doesn't need to be strong. Just try to avoid hitting plastic trim with the alcohol.
