DaytonaJae
Here's a 2007 Volkswagen Golf GTI in metallic black that I just finished up for a friend. Aw, crap... Interior isn't bad, just neglected. Makes you wanna sneeze just by looking at all the dust Engine Bay Before Adam's APC soaking in Adam's In and Out Spray is simply amazing. Shiny! Wheels were treated with the usual: Adam's APC, Green Wheel Cleaner, Fender, Boar's Hair, and Lug Nut Brushes Now nice and clean. Mad scientist preparing mixture for foam gun My neighbors still think I'm crazy. After Rinse Adam's Great White Drying Towel doin' its thing, covers more than 1/2 the hood of this small car. Love bugs still there... or are they? Getting it under the lights, I realize I have my work cut out for me. Turns out the damage is past the clear and into the paint, nothing I can do about it. Swirl City Claying the car ... holy crapola Another one bites the dust The love bugs didn't prevent me from preparing an arsenal for my onsalught: 7424xp after about what seemed like an hour. Dear Santa, I need a FLEX, a rotary, or a Belt Sander 50/50 close ups Bug damage is through the clearcoat, and cannot be fixed:( The rest of the car is surprisingly in great shape. Driver's door 50/50 Before After Before After Wheels were IPA wiped then treated to a coat of Adam's Quick Sealant. Cure time 20 min. Adam's Brilliant Glaze hazing over Finished with a coat of Adam's Americana on this metallic black car Wheels dressed with Adam's Super VRT, 1 coat Hood Reflection Notes: Adam's Super VRT on all trim Adam's In and Out Spray on front grille areas Interior cleaned with Adam's Leather and Interior Cleaner, followed by Adam's Leather Conditioner Floor mats removed and washed with Adam's APC and Fender Brush, dried by Metro Sidekick Thanks for looking! DaytonaJae
Nice work....but i think the order of the pictures got mixed up a bit near the end How so? If you are referring to the bug damage to the hood in the finished shots, those were indeed the finished shots. Although they look like bugs, they are the pits in the clear coat that was left by the bugs, which happen to be shaped like the impact crater of the bug that left it, and they are too deep to be polished out by conventional means. mc2hill
Nice turnaround Jae! The majority of the car looks fantastic, too bad he let the hood get so bad. When he gets the hood repainted he should think about having a clear bra installed too.
Megayota
Great job and makes me glad I sprung for a Clear Bra since I have to drive through farmland on my daily commute. But don't worry the clear bra will still get sealed
ChargerMatt
Holy crap those love bugs are really bad huh? Man I'm glad I don't have to deal with them here... Very nice turnaround, that paint looks deep and wet.
DaveVY
I think you need to tell one of your customers to get you a Flex for Christmas!
Golf for Life
Nice turnaround, to bad that your customer did not get those luv bugs off before they did permanent damage.
GGEVOXFTMFW
my brothers 05 black gti has those same battle scars with bugs, and when I detailed it never came out. He bought it with 65k and previous owner never touched the car, both the front bumper and hood after I clayed still showed bug marks. I think I went through two claybars doing his hood, bumper, mirrors, and the edge of the where it meets the windshield.
