I have discovered that certain tires look better matte than glossy, and vice versa. For me, the more complex and dense the sidewall markings a tire has (text,lines, patterns) the better it looks with a shiny tire dressing. However, on a tire where there are a lot of flat surfaces and where the text is large, matte is my choice. Also it depends on the color of the car its going on, the size and shape of the body, the series of the tire. Basically its all up to you as to what looks good.
