Tinting Tail Lights

Have a buddy wanting me to tint his tail lights tomorrow. I will be sanding them before I use the VHT NightShades and after I clear coat them. I have used the ultimate compound from Meguiars before but wondering what hand/ PC polish will be good to use after sanding the clear (if I need to) and which you would prefer.

I did do that at 5000 just then. same outcome. maybe waxing them?

NO! Don't wax for a couple of months at least. Mine look like that weather waxed or not.

 

What clear did you use? Automotive or just some rattle can clear?

What about using FMP on them and not something so aggressive as SHR which to me wouldnt really make them any shiner as SHR doesnt really make anything shiny.

You should follow SHR with FMP to get out any hazing left over from the more aggressive polish. As FMP is less aggressive it will finish down better giving a better shine.
