  1. foam? I don't think we watched the same video
  2. If they're automotively illiterate...tell them it cost more because you had to drain the alternator before cleaning the engine.
  3. tell me about it...it's been constant for the past 3 days and looks like it will continue that way until at least Monday
  4. I've got a box coming tomorrow 4" pads 6 new tire sponges 2 new interior sponges (I will keep the leftover black squares for trim and engine use only) Claybar BSG UCS APC If I had known the glass towels were coming out this week I would have held off, but I've got a designated glass towel already, so 2 of the news ones can wait for the next order...if there is one...I'm running out of room for all this stuff
  5. I don't intend to use them on paint unless I absolutely have to - only plastic lenses (they will actually fit perfectly in the deeply recessed area of the brake lights on the vette) wheels, and glass Mine are coming tomorrow
  6. Hopefully we can get a video or writeup from someone with enough experience using a rotary buffer to make sure people who use the new 4" pads are doing so as safely as possible, because rotaries can burn the paint if used improperly
  7. I would add extra cost if the car needs extra correction, not because of extra size. The size of the vehicle is proportional to the amount of work needed to be done, that's why a fixed hourly rate is a better option IMO
  8. Well James it looks like you have good taste in interior accessories too
  9. Most of it is. The only major cosmetic parts of the interior that are still original (as far as I know anyway) are the seatbelts, dash pad, and top of the dashboard. Over the first winter me and my dad gutted the whole thing, unfortunately I don't have any digital photos of the restoration (used throwaway cameras). We replaced the seats, carpets, door panels, speaker grills, dash trim, steering wheel, console door, the plastic side panels on the console, shifter knob and boot, all weatherstrip and window felts. We found over $6 in loose change interspersed throughout the car...still in a paper cup in the garage.
  10. I love 90s cars that look brand new:thumbsup: awesome job
  11. I used it to clean my daily driver's engine that had never been cleaned before, much easier on tough grime than APC
  12. I like the contrasting colors Rich, you and AJ know how to dress up the interior while still maintaining good taste. I wrote myself a to-do list for when I do the vette before the first show, here's the interior part Vacuum carpets, visors, behind/under/between seats. Clean dashboard, steering wheel, vents, gauge cluster, console, pedals, speaker grilles, buttons, e-brake handle Leather Conditioner on dash, door panels, shifter knob and boot, steering wheel Glass Cleaner on interior glass and mirrors Metal Polish on seatbelt buckles Leather Conditioner on seats this is the only interior picture I have online at the moment, it's a year old and a few things are different. I'll take loads of new pics once I get her re-adamized for 09...weather has been uncooperative for the past few weeks
  13. Don't worry Bill, I can process your riches for only $4999 and I don't even need your SSN
  14. $300 at bingo at Foxwoods, 2 days after my 20th birthday, I think I still have the pic I took yup I found it haven't won anything close to that much ever since though, ha Rich those are cool I might need to look into getting some
  15. When I did the door jambs on my Taurus, I just used a couple of cheap Costco mf towels, damp with water and apc, to remove all the dirt and grime that had accumulated over the winter. They came out sparkling clean. Just don't be like the 'expert' from that video who sprayed water on the door jambs and sills of the Bentley with the doors open
  16. if you want to remove wax or sealant that's already on the car in order to 'start from scratch' using all Adam's products, you can wash the car with Dawn dish soap. The degreasing power of the soap will strip the wax from the car. You'll probably want to do this in the shade as well, because while Adam's soap is ok to let dry on the car before rinsing, I'm not positive that Dawn is. If you don't want to go this route then using the clay bar and Revive Polish should get the old stuff off as well
  17. there are plenty of ATM's around where anyone can find other people's balance receipts for this purpose
  18. What company do you use to print the cards? I've had business cards among other things made from overnightprints.com and found the quality to be exceptional, and it is fairly inexpensive
  19. use a black stroke like on 'Deep Reflections Detailing' I made a business card sized Adam's logo with just the phone number and website address, but Jason removed it because I think they want just Rich (marylandvette) to do stuff with the logo
  20. With the MF applicators, first I spray with APC and agitate, then hose with cold water and wring them out. Depending on how soiled they were I'd then throw them in the wash bucket with cold water and woolite (put the grit guard on top of the pads to keep them submerged) and let them soak for a while....they come out looking like new
  21. it also prevents the backing plate from rubbing on the polisher which can burn the unit out quick
  22. driving an antique ferrari around the roman colosseum...........epic
  23. Yes you still need to use the washer that came with your PC
  24. I liked the part where he did everything wrong
  25. Rich and Teresa, the rear wheel wells are painted. One of the first things my dad did to his 08 when he got it was put undercoating on the rear wheel wells to a. prevent paint damage, and b. so all 4 wheel wells looked the same.
