  1. Thanks everyone, especially Adam it means a lot coming from you
  2. That color is a real eye-catcher, and the shine makes it even better
  3. I wouldn't recommend it, especially if the surface of the car is hot. Ideally you should apply this in the shade while the car is cool to the touch, otherwise the residue may be quite difficult to remove. Remember, paste is a solid while it's in the jar. You only temporarily turn it into a liquid so you can apply it to the car. Once on the car it will want to turn back into a solid again pretty quickly. If the surface is hot or in the sun, it will solidify even quicker, making it difficult to remove. This is the complete opposite of a liquid wax. Buttery Wax is already a liquid in the bottle, that's why it needs a cure time once applied to the car so it can form the protective layer on top of your paint. Because the liquid needs time to solidify, applying it in the sun is safeĀ®.
  4. that seems to be a popular camera on here nice work on the car those were some nasty swirls. gotta love dark red
  5. Maybe someone on the forum lives nearby and has some extra DS they're willing to let you use?
  6. two different order #'s too, or were they both the same? check your 'order history' on the website maybe they really like you
  7. If it's cloth/fabric you can try the Carpet & Upholstery Cleaner. If it's a vinyl top you can use Leather Cleaner and/or VRT. Always test in an inconspicuous spot first.
  8. pretty soon you'll be like this lady
  9. did they arrive in 2 separate shipments or all in the same box? what does the invoice say?
  10. rain again...it's making my lawn grow too fast
  11. I used SHR on my Taurus' gauge cluster plastic cover. It didn't do much for the scratches but it made it clearer.
  12. That's awesome. First thing I thought of was Batman also, that thing is a tank!
  13. Got my 4" pads, and fixed most of that mark to a point where you can't really see it unless you're kissing the wheel. A couple drops of SHR on the orange pad (used it on the PC, not a drill) and 45 seconds later:
  14. I used it on the faucets in the kitchen and bathrooms
  15. I like the bowtie on the back, nice subtle touch. Maybe put some adam's stickers on the front ones?
  16. Wow.. I use detail spray on my computer's case and acrylic window but I never thought of polishing the expansion slot covers, or any of the metal inside...I guess I have a new rainy day project (which is good because it's supposed to rain again for the next 4 days!) Good luck with the sale. Send me a private message if you want to talk computers and custom cases
  17. Thanks everyone Only if you wrap your butt in Adam's towels Looking to double up on hardware this year
  18. 90% of the interior is new. The car was in a dilapidated garage covered with old bed sheets when I went to look at it. After looking at about a dozen C3's and C4's in my price range this was the first that had no indication of body damage, which is one of the main reasons why I ended up with it. Major parts replaced almost immediately were the weatherstrip, seats (covers and foam, I kept the tracks and the backs), carpet, door panels, steering wheel, console side panels, and console door. Various other trim pieces were replaced in time. Below are the only 'before' shots I have. The restoration photos were taken on a film camera and are in a binder that I keep in the car for shows. :help:
  19. Devin that looks amazing here is a more recent photo
  20. What is this? A day without rain? Mother Nature, you spoil me I decided to take advantage of the first sunshine in almost 2 weeks and spent about 7 hours on the engine, tires, wheels, and interior. Now, I know it looks like it, but I didn't have time to do anything to the paint except wipe it down with Detail Spray. There is no wax on this car. The last time I polished and waxed it was September 2008. Yeah, Adam's is that **** good. It's begging for Americana, but that will have to come another day. At least that can be done in the garage. Hit 87,200 miles today I vacuumed every square inch of carpet: behind, between, under the seats, and the visors. Cleaned in the seams of the seats, dusted all the gauges, buttons, and switches, cleaned the door jambs, speaker grilles, and even metal polished the seatbelt buckles. I unscrewed the 2 front wheel wells, removed them from the hood, and cleaned behind them with APC and a brush. I took a toothbrush and GWC and got rid of all the built up grime on the control arms and shocks, and various other parts of the engine. Got some nasty scrapes in the processes, but what looks better than your own hands covered in grease and blood? Nothing (well maybe except the car ). I leave you with my favorite shot
  21. Are those before or after polishing? Clay an area, dampen a towel with 50/50 water and either vinegar or iso alcohol, let it sit on the area for 10-15 seconds, and then wipe it off and see
  22. are they surface water spots (salts left after water evaporated) or etched (acid rain/fallout reacting with the clearcoat)? Are they on paint, glass, or both? If clay/shr/polish hasn't done anything, try a 50/50 mix of distilled water and Isopropyl sprayed onto a microfiber towel (not one of your good towels). Wipe it to the surface and wipe off with your drying towel If that doesn't help you may need to step up to something more aggressive. Take some pictures so we can get a better idea of what you might need to do
  23. The only Meguiar's claybar I've used were the tiny ones that came with the 'quick clay kit' and they were like taffy. I used them on my wheels once and threw them out. This was over 2 years ago though, I haven't used anything but Adam's blue clay since. It's very easy to work with, picks up a ton of microscopic contaminants, and leaves the surface smooth as glass. I keep a plastic sandwich bag in my detail bag to demonstrate the need for clay to people at car shows
