  1. Yeah, my grass is slowly turning back to green, which means soon I'll be back to cutting it once every 4 days -.-
  2. Took this a few minutes ago after a quick rain shower. 2 month old application of americana
  3. Holy mother of wow, nice job. Also you forgot to blur the license plate in two of the pics
  4. I saw this video on Jalopnik a month or so ago. My doctor told me I can't watch it again.
  5. Do they appear to be in the surface or on top of the surface? Since you said they are in the shape of how you applied the wax, it is possible what you are seeing is Americana residue that you did not fully remove.
  6. Hi James, we spoke briefly at the Norwood clinic. You can do either, it just depends on the amount of time you have, whether or not you will need to drive your car before finishing, etc. Polishing the whole car, and then coming back around and sealing the whole car, will save you a lot of time compared to if you polish and seal one panel at a time (swapping pads back and forth can get time consuming). However, if you don't have a lot of time to work and need to split the job up over a few days (as you've said), then you can certainly polish then seal one panel at a time. Like I said this will be more time consuming. I had to do my G8 this way because doing the whole car in one sitting was unrealistic for me. Also I don't have a garage for it so I didn't want to polish the whole car and let it sit outside overnight with no wax. So either way works, it's just a matter of what works best for your time.
  7. Both VRT and LC are dry to the touch after applying, so there is no worry about it coming off when someone sits down. It will, however, like everything, wear away over time and you'll eventually need to apply more. VRT has a lower SPF but is water repellant. LC has a higher SPF but isn't water repellant. Either will work just as good, it's just a matter of which feature you'd need more.
  8. Are they leather or vinyl? Since it's a boat, I'd go with VRT, which is water repellant, especially if it's an open-top boat.

  10. Hmm I never thought about using pinstriping, sounds like it would have been much easier to work with haha oh well :/
  11. Yup, mist a towel with Detail Spray and wipe off any that's gotten onto the paint. If you can take a picture of the trim area that you're having trouble with we may be able to offer more input
  12. Glass Sealant on your smartphone's touchscreen helps with those dreaded fingerprints
  13. It should hold up through quite a few washes. Once it starts to fade just apply a little more
  14. You may have used too much product (a little goes a long way, especially with hard, non-porous plastics), or the trim may not have been clean before you dressed it. I've never had this problem with SVRT so maybe someone else can chime in.
  15. Nice job that new tape is crazy good! But now you need to add the steps starting with "drove through rain at 1:30am"
  16. It was great meeting a bunch of you, I had an awesome time. Phil certainly knows how to put a shindig together. I think what I like most about these experiences is that the majority of the attendees are people who are still learning how to detail their cars. They leave with a lot of knowledge (and supplies!) and the eagerness to get home and apply what they've learned. Here are a few pics I took, there was a great turnout: We all keep good company After almost everyone had left I managed to sneak in a shot by the tracks as the clouds became darker
  17. At such low opm, all it would be good for is spreading machine super sealant, and that's IF the pads would fit.
  18. He only wants a $500 deposit, now that's trust.

  20. Final product installed, I figured it was time to use a real camera to take a pic of this Overall pretty happy with how it came out, thanks for the suggestions and compliments!
  21. Stop? You sure? I was gonna slap a bunch of go-fast stickers all over it
  22. Just like with polishing your paint, start with the lesser abrasive method and then step it up if you don't get the desired results. I would go with steel wool by hand first. Used with Metal Polish you should be impressed with the results.
  23. Brilliant Glaze on the faces, metal polish on the barrels.
