  1. Thanks for the feedback Ray! The portable tank, filled with DI water, to get around the house exterior windows is a good idea. I could also put the portable tank in the back of our Gator utility vehicle? Or, strap the DI unit in the back of the Gator. With the valve assembly on the top of that device, I'm just a little hesitant to be too mobile with it and risk a break. Aside from spot free drawing of our vehicles, it would be a huge help to not have to squeegee all the outside windows on our house, haha! I do wonder how much of a pain it is when you have to refill with the bag of loose resin?

  2. Those Continental's look fantastic! I agree, especially for those on just using the cleaner and no dressing. I'm like some of you guys, torn on the dressing in relation to looks, sling, runs, and dirt/dust attraction. I use Adams wheel/tire cleaner and to be truthful the tires look great after just that treatment. Then I ambitious on the next wash, and break out my Adams tire shine, a brush, and the Adams round foam applicator. 2 of my 3 vehicles have rough tread/aggressive side wall Goodyears and the process gets tedious!

On a different note, I used wheel and tire cleaner then tire shine on our low pro rollback at our dealership. Continental tires too! The shine worked perfect! No sling, no runs.

  3. Thanks Falcaineer. The unit from Adams I'm considering is the Standard Portable Spotless Water Deionizer. The bypass valve here is a huge advantage in my opinion. Just trying to decide if I want to add another "device" to my wash process. From what I mentioned above, I'm hoping I'd get a good bit of life from the resin before having to change it out? Welcome to all opinions here.

  4. Considering buying a Spotless Water Deionizer from Adams or CR. I have somewhat hard well water at our house with a TDS reading of 294 ppm. No softener or filter on the house either. I do use a Aquacrest inline filter on my pressure washer for my final rinse. It's a little helpful but not a huge improvement.

All 3 of our vehicles are either medium dark color to strait black, so spots definitely show, lol.  On average I wash vehicles 2-3 times per month and house windows 2 times per year.

Just trying to decide if the investment is worthwhile? Is the maintenance of spotless equipment to great for the # of washes I do? To save time with the drying process would be very helpful.

    My wash/dry/protect products:

3500 psi/3.5 GPM gas pressure washer, inline water filter.  Adams truck brush, Adams wash mit, 2 bucket system w/grit guards/, Adams premium foam cannon, Dewalt battery leaf blower, Adams big white drying towels. Mega foam, Adams spray wax.

Just looking for some advice from others on the forum here. If I need to provide any other info just let me know. Thanks!

  5. I have been using Adams spray wax on my exterior glass on all of my vehicles. I'm very impressed with the results as well. Typically, I'm doing this after a wash and dry. I'll use some glass cleaner 1st if there is still bug residue or such left after the wash. I don't see any film, haze or streaks after using the spray wax either. I'm curious to try it on the interior? Anyone have any opinions if the results will be as good as the exterior glass?  I struggled for years with glass cleaners,  rain x, paper towels, micro fiber towels, and newspaper. Always some streaks that were irritating.

  6. In regards to water pressure and volume from my 5/8 garden hose, I'm pretty good. Due to having a sprinkler system in my house I've got a 3 phase/220 volt constant pressure well pump. Capacity is around 26 gpm and I've got the pressure dialed in at 72 psi.  Also, when I did the rise of my truck the other night I used the soap tip and my stub gun that I use with the foam cannon.  Perhaps I need to use the gun with my lance and the 40 degree tip?  Once again, thanks to all for the feedback here! Most appreciated.

  7. Just was curious about opinions within the community on how people like to rise their vehicles after a wash? Specifically, do you prefer to use a garden hose with or without a nozzle of some type? Do you prefer to use a pressure washer with a certain nozzle tip you prefer?

I washed my black '19 Denali last night and used my pressure washer with a soap nozzle tip to do the rinse. I was pleased somewhat but after using my foam cannon and megafoam, the foam was more challenging to remove from all crevices than with my garden hose and Eley spray nozzle.  Certainly the flow is greater with my garden hose and than the pressure washer.

  8. RayS,

Thanks for the response and recommendations! My wife and I picked up the Tahoe this morning and I was shocked. It was washed/dried very well. Even had a layer of spray wax on it! No scratches that I could find and I looked it over carefully in good light.  All shipping stickers removed perfectly too. Even the tire shine was applied properly, no runs/sling. It was our 1st time working with this dealership too. We found out today the owner has a classic car collection in a separate building and im guessing they take the PDI process seriously?

Regardless, sounds like I should strip off the spray wax and use an Adam's ceramic product.

  9. To my surprise, our local dealer called yesterday and notified me that my '23 Z71 Tahoe has arrived from the factory! Seemed like getting it with the 6.2L gas been some of the hold up. It's been on order since April of last year unfortunately. It hasn't sat outside too much so the paint is hopefully fresh. The dealer will do their minimal cleaning that I'm sure will produce its first scratches.  I was just curious what level of protection others recommend for a new vehicle like this. The paint is sterling silver metallic.

    Spray wax?

    Buttery wax?

    Adams paste waxes?

Or Graphene coating? Which I have absolutely no experience with.

This Tahoe will be a daily driver and not a show vehicle. Regardless it will be washed often and taken care of paint wise.

    Thanks for any feedback!

  10. Thanks for the response here Falcaineer.

The 1st video was excellent. The Escalade was similar to our Yukon Denali XL. Big vehicles with lots of surface area to clean and water spot. The one difference I noticed was Adam used detail spray as the lubricant/dry aide. I use the Adams spray wax. After I've leaf blown the vehicle. Is the spray wax a mistake?

2nd video was good especially with the concentration on wheels. On our ZL1 Camaro-Black, I see the benefits of getting the barrel brush. On our Yukon and Sierra it's not as necessary.

I will say, from start to finish on either the Yukon XL or the Sierra crew cab, it's taking me on average 2-2.5 hrs. Not sure if there is a way I can speed this up and get the same results? This time frame includes 10 min of equipment prep and 10 minutes of equipment cleanup too.

Feel free to provide any other feedback. Thanks!

  11. I have what I think is a decent arsenal of Adam's products for my wash, dry, and wax but I was curious for feedback?

    The vehicles:

    2019 GMC Sierra Denali-Black

    2019 GMC Yukon XL Denali-Black

    2022 Chevy ZL1 Camaro-Black

    The equipment:

    3.5 GPM/3000 psi pressure washer

    Adams Premium Foam Cannon

    Chenille Wash Mitt

Bucket & Grit guard for rinse of mitt

    Adams Great White Drying Towel

In-line garden hose water filter (RV)

    Well water that's slightly hard

    The Adams chemicals:

    Mega Foam

    Tire & Wheel Cleaner

    Spray Wax

    Tire Shine

I'm pleased with the results of the equipment and chemicals. Mega Foam is impressive. Also with black vehicles and slightly hard water even with the in-line filter, using sorry wax while drying is almost a must.  Any other thoughts of what I should or perhaps shouldn't be doing? Thanks!
